We have prepared some helpful information about how to get started using Event Espresso. If you feel this information is out-of-date, please see our Getting Started and FAQ pages.

Feel free to complete as many of these tasks as you’d like. If you need more information, please see the EE4 Documentation, forums, or contact us.

Getting Started

1. Create Your Event

You can create as many events as you’d like.

Go to: Event Espresso > Events > Add New Event

You can add as many event details as you’d like: Title, description, datetime(s), ticket(s), categories, tags, registration forms, select a venue, add a featured image, etc.

Now view your event and test a simple registration.

2. Update your Organization Settings (optional)

Go to: General Settings > Your Organization

Add your name, address, and contact information so that the details look familiar.

3. Setup your Payment Methods (optional)

Go to: Payment Methods.

By default, you the Invoice payment method is enabled. You can enable several other payment methods including: Authorize.net AIM, Mijireh, PayPal Pro, PayPal Standard, Bank and Check.

4. Change Your Theme (optional)

Go to: Appearance > Themes

By default, the Twenty Fifteen theme is enabled. You can change your theme to one of the themes provided.

5. Create a custom registration form (optional)

Go to: Registration Form to add a question and/or question groups, then assign questions to your question groups.

6. Edit Your Messages (optional)

Go to: Messages

You can edit your different message types and for different contexts (recipients such as Admin, Primary Registrant or Registrant).

7. Add Venues (optional)

Go to: Venues.

You can create a Venue profile to re-use the venue information many times and create beautiful venue pages.

8. Add People/Organizations (optional)

Go to: People Admin

Similar to Venues, you can create people/organization profiles that you can re-use many times with beautiful pages.

9. Print and Scan Tickets (optional)

Go to: Message and/or Barcode Scanner

You can provide attendees printable tickets with barcodes to be scanned and validated at the door.

10. Download a Check-in List

Go to: Events > Check-in

Filter the list to the event and datetime that you want to get a list of attendees (Approved and Payment Pending registrations). You can also check-in/check-out attendees to keep records of attendance.

11. Purchase a Support License

Event Espresso is great. And now that you’ve had a taste of using Event Espresso, we hope you’ll join the hundreds of thousands of other event organizers who are using Event Espresso and purchase a support license.

Here are answers to some of the frequently asked questions.

How long can I use my sandbox account

You are welcome to use your demo site until we need to perform maintenance and delete it. We will attempt to notify you in advance before your site will be removed.

How do I provide feedback about EE4?

Please  contact the Event Espresso sales department by filling out the form; we’d welcome your request.

What plugins are installed?

Your demo site account is automatically configured with the following plugins:

Add-ons Not Installed:

You will not have access to upload themes or plugins to your sandbox.

What themes are installed?

Your sandbox account is automatically configured with the Twenty Fifteen theme. We have also provided a many other popular themes for evaluating Event Espresso. You will not have access to upload themes to your sandbox account. You can request additional themes to be installed by contacting the Event Espresso sales department. We do not guarantee that any request for additional themes to be added will be granted.
